O race 45:46 [3] 6.92 km (6:37 / km) +107m 6:08 / km
ahr:148 max:180

Kissing Point map in the Sydney Summer Series. Basically a 45 minus score event. Equal 5th in the Legend class. Lost 10 points arriving back 46 seconds late. Hilly area with some water views as well. Never felt fully comfortable running until after 30 minutes. Shifting into turbo mode at that stage seemed to overcome tightness in my left calf. Amazed at how long others studied the map before starting - some were planning their course for 30 plus minutes before starting. I had a quick glance at the map to work out a rough route but planned most of it on the way to the first two controls. Nice it has SiAir and a colour map.

Strength and conditioning 1:00:00 [3] 1.0 km (1:00:00 / km)

Back to early morning exercise class - classes run over the school term. Bit rusty after a few weeks off. Good warm up for the Sydney summer series this arvo.

MTB 56:51 [3] 15.87 km (3:35 / km) +230m 3:20 / km
ahr:112 max:153

Spin thru zoo single track area and parts of the arboretum and home via Coombs - swooped by 3 magpies - one was serious with at least 3 strikes hard on the helmet. Lovely riding weather.

BTW on a visit to the Runners Shop for new shorts I enquired about the shoes worn by Kipchoge - $375 a pair but hard to get hold of they told me.

road cycling 1:42:37 [3] 40.32 km (2:33 / km) +378m 2:26 / km
ahr:116 max:143

Around LBG solo but with a variation at the end to try and dodge all the walkers taking part in some activity. Very pleasant riding conditions but if the bike path could be duplicated that would be better to allow for a faster time. Has WA got any spare GST monies?

MTB 1:34:05 [3] 22.79 km (4:08 / km) +360m 3:50 / km
ahr:104 max:138

Peloton of 4 plus a dog for the usual arboretum ride. Saw a sign warning of the MTBO event there next Friday night - must enter soon. Rode back via some of the new MTB tracks which was pleasant and fast. Also spoke to a MTB track builder who was from the Yukon originally. Bit tried after training last night.

walking 1:20:53 [3] 5.7 km (14:11 / km) +229m 11:49 / km
ahr:90 max:115

Dog walk around and over Mt Taylor - took it easy to save legs for training later in the day.
6 PM

Run 59:45 [3] 9.6 km (6:13 / km) +185m 5:41 / km
ahr:141 max:185

Back to running training at the arboretum - with daylight saving in place there is no need for headlights now. Plus we park at the top so the warm up run is a 2 kms circuit rather than running up the terraces from near the lake.

5 times around a loop run with climb and fast down hill bits. Followed by 4 130 metre higher tempo runs. Then the 2km warm down.

Took it easier as still recovering from the O events last week.
