Friday ride to the arboretum for coffee via the zoo single tracks and Wide Brown Land. Nice day for riding and some moisture in the air after all the rain we have had. Long coffee stop - a lot to discuss about solving the worlds problems - then a ride home via the new single track - fast.

First session back to running technique with the Cadence run group - same faces as last year - same hill reps!. 2 km warm up - 6 by 120 metre fast run with 30 seconds in between each. 6 hill sprints in the amphitheatre and finally 4 times up a section of the terraces. Then a 2 km warm down run. So lots of short sharp stuff and I was stuffed!

Return of classes after the school holiday break. Not as hard as I expected so must have a residual level of conditioning. Early start a test tho.

Peloton of 5 and I won the hill sprint again - 5 out of 5 for 2020 - surged past Brad about 10 metres before the finish line. Then took 5 minute to recover. Actually the short distance I took the lead was probably the only non-wheel sucking of the ride by me. Tail wind home was appreciated - one of the fastest times for the ride today.

With Grant in NZ I ran from home around a bit of the cross country track then back home - 82% humidity after the rain - felt very sweaty at the end - also not much zip in the body.

Sprint series race at boring Haig Park - but made more fun with two mazes set up on the course. Second smaller maze a challenge as I did not realise there was an enlarged version on the back of the map. But did not miss punch here. Nice to be running in the drizzly rain for change. Not a lot of climb on this map! Still felt tired after "boot camp" type experience at the coast last week where I ran 7+ kms * 3 days on a row.
