Rode around some of the new local suburbs with Liz on a nice sunny day. Seemed to climb a lot in the first half as we weaved our way around bike paths, footpaths and some roads (which had few cars but a lot of tradie utes). Most time exploring Denman Prospect which is planted right on the old Bluetts Pines map. It was a good map and a good area in the past. Now being converted to house blocks about 450 sq metres in size (so small) and a surprising number of apartment blocks. Also a number of nice looking playgrounds which are of course shut at present. Best playground was at the top of the old hill on the Bluetts Pines map - without the pines it will be a test to keep kids there on a windy and cold day as it is very exposed - but great views. Of the two to three hundred house that have been built there - or being built - I only saw one I like.
Takeaway coffee at Duffy shops afterwards and like ships passing in the night had a brief encounter with 2 other usual peloton members. Wonder if Henry Wadsworth Longfellow had COVID 19 in mind when he wrote the line in 1874. It seems very appropriate under current social distancing norms.

Peloton of 2 - lovely weather for riding - still, blue sky with nice autumn colours and not too many layers of clothing needed yet.Usual LBG circuit - takeaway from 38 expresso - very brief and distant cross over with the others in the usual peloton - despite all pairs leaving 10 to 15 minutes apart. Lot of other people out exercising even tho we had an early start - don't these other people work??

With Grant starting at Scrivener Dam then along shore of LBG until the Black Mountain underpass then thru a short section of Black Mountain then under GDE for a wander thru snow gums followed by another underpass into the cork plantation then back out the arborteum main gates and back to the start point via the bike path - whoa thats a long sentence.

Pleasant running conditions and plenty to chat about. Longest run for me for a while.

Paddle with Liz from Back Mountain boat ramp around the peninsula and up Sullivans Creek at ANU - then back - bit murky up the creek - fair amount of blue green algae. Very still day which was great for paddling. Some upper body workout.

Lovely cool clear morning in the ACT and rode early with Liz to the arborteum via some of the zoo single tracks. Visited Wide Brown Land before scooting back via Dairy Farmers hIll and the nice tracks thru the pines on the hill nearby. Spotted a lot of people out as we rode back - included at least 4 orienteers (two walking dogs and two motoring up a hill on their MTBs). Wore a buff over my nose to start off - due to the cold morning rather than as a virus mask. Started early as KB was cooking pancakes and bacon for a late breakfast for us.
