O race 31:16 [3] 4.03 km (7:46 / km) +44m 7:21 / km

Sprint event with 25 controls. Spiked all other than 13 which I overshot by about 100 metres (lost 2 minutes minimum). Areas of new mapping linked up to the Snow Gums map - but I was pretty familiar with the area as under the cork oaks I used to run there often with the dog. Nice course. Advertised distance was 3.6 kms.

MTB 1:40:00 [3] 21.0 km (4:46 / km) +350m 4:24 / km

Usual arboretum ride but without the zoo single tracks for a change.

ride with Peter 1:36:36 [3] 39.58 km (2:26 / km) +394m 2:19 / km

Usual LBG circuit with a peloton of between 4 to 6. Feels like riding thru a gauntlet at present with the magpies swooping. Avoided the one that got Brad on the left ear yesterday near Yarramundi reach but saw another swoop a rider at the far end of east basin. A couple of others gave me a nasty look but refrained from an follow thru. Nice ride in to coffee at Kingston foreshore but strong headwind on the way home. 2nd to Brad on the hill sprint today.

Run 1:11:45 [3] 9.03 km (7:57 / km) +328m 6:43 / km

Started at Black Mountain Peninsula then around the Allison Jones track - a walking path on the south side of Black Mtn - onto a fire trail and up to a track that was not too painful even tho I think it is call "circumcision" by the locals - then back down to the Bot gardens and back to the peninsula. Nice views but the initial track was a bit steep and rocky under foot so had to walk sections. Another lovely spring day in CBR.

Swim 20:00 [3] 0.3 km (1:06:40 / km) +1m 1:05:34 / km

Recovery swim - occasional leg muscle wanted to cramp so must be feeling the effects of yesterday's adventure.

road cycling 9:31 [3] 2.58 km (3:41 / km) +23m 3:32 / km

Ride to the swim from home on my 3rd bike - one of Liz's old bike with extended seat post and handlebars out as far as they can go. Lovely weather here.

road cycling 9:53 [3] 2.55 km (3:53 / km) +40m 3:36 / km

Ride home from the pool - cool that is is so close.

O race 1:18:18 [3] *** 6.8 km (11:31 / km) +167m 10:15 / km
spiked:16/17c

Middle distance event at Tidbinbilla - tough area as quite thick in spots and a fair amount of climb (altho I did less than advertise of 205m). Distance covered longer than advertise tho of 4.6 km. Main issue for me was one bingo control - number 6 on our course or 104. Pretty sure the area is not mapped correctly - certainly the vegetation is much thicker than show on the map. Further the control was hang on the east side rather than the advertised west side and if approached from above was easy but from the side (assuming you had to go to the west side of the feature) it was very ugly. I took 18.8 and I see some people did it in about 1.56!! I got into the dark green and found it hard to go up or down. At one stage my left leg was entangled in vegetation that would not let go. So either the dark green is not mapped correctly or the rock placement is wrong relative to the nearby light yellow boundary. Rest of the course was nice and challenging tho.
