Arboretum ride - plenty of layers as a cool start - spotted ice on some puddles next to the Molonglo River while we were going to the zoo single tracks. Fingers cold despite full gloves. Back via the super fast downhill after the Dairy Farmers Hill climb.

Chilly start - winter leggings helped as did 3 layers on the chest (including winter top) and long gloves and a buff. Started in a similar temperature to the Giro false start on the stage last night, but we did not have the wind and heavy sleet to deal with like they did.

Peloton of 3 then joined for coffee by Grant (rode his MTB) and two other injured team members (Ed and Brad) who came via car and bus, respectively. Stories about recovering from injuries seems to take up a far bit of the conversation these days.

Awoonga - Day 2 of double header - classic spur gully. Change of scale to 1:10000 took a while to get use to. But no mistakes early on. Found another nearby control on 5 so a little time lost. Was a bit slow on 9 as altho found another flag on the slope I was unable to identify the feature on the map - it was virtually in the same circle so I was very close but dropped a bit to find a saddle which help me relocate quickly. Tired at the end - a bit more jogging today but still well off race pace. Did not follow anyone today!!!
