Car not well so planned trip to Locherwood didn't happen. Ran over to Houston House Woods and did various laps of the paths including 3 mini hill sessions during the run, each 8 x 45secs up and steady back down. There aren't any animals in the fields and they are now completely overgrown with long grass which is now falling over making them unpleasant to run in hence the paths. Glorious sunny day for it. Breathing awful at the start but improved the more I ran. I find it strange that I often run better in training than I do in races. Do I get too nervous before races, especially when I know I'm not at my best?

Jog round Birkmyre Park in Kilmacolm and a few strides before the West District XC Relay Champs.

West District XC Relay Champs. Ran Leg 4 in the Vets team. Good fast course with a few hills in it. Ran it almost alone as the field was so spread out. Had a shocking run. I think I've not shaken the cold off yet (at least I hope that was the cause of the poor performance!).

Intervals on Linwood track. 10 x 400m (1min). Feeling a lot better today, but didn't push the pace too much. Hamstrings quite tight afterwards.
