Good warm up run with Ryan before the Paisley 10k.

Managed to persuade Mrs P that she can go to urban orienteering races without me, so she headed off to Cumbernauld and I headed to Paisley for the 10k.
Disappointed with my run and time as I felt very sluggish and had to work hard all the way round. Faded over the last 2 kms and lost a few places and was dropped by approx 30 seconds by the group I was with which contained some of my (younger) rivals.
However happy to run the 2nd best age-graded performance in the race and to win the Men 60+ prize, but feel I should be running faster.

Linwood Parkrun. Forced myself to take it easy to try and save something for tomorrow's race. It was difficult though when I saw the others I normally run against disappear in to the distance but I kept it steady and ran a slow time. But it did seem to take a bit more out of me than I hoped. Throat a bit better but back to the sair heid today.

Felt grim today - got a bit of a sore throat again. Legs also dead so went for an easy run from the house round the gravel and dirt trails round the Oilffields and Craigends.

Had a site visit to a section of damaged path on the John Muir Way in Blackthird Plantation. Parked the truck at the top of the Stoneymollan Road and ran in and back. Legs shot so took it easy. Strange thing happened last night - I slept for 7 1/2 hours. The most sleep I've had in one night for a few years!

Intervals with the athletic club on the trails on Linwood Moss. Session was 5 x (2mins (1min jog recovery) + 4mins (2mins jog recovery)). Was running quite well but faded a bit on the last 4mins.
