Leisurely mountain biking with Mrs P, over to Ferguslie and then lots of loops round the trails on Linwood Moss. Good fun and a good distraction after yesterday's disaster.

Warm up before the Scottish Trail Running Champs. Felt crap.

Scottish Trail Running Champs, Falkland Estate, Strathmiglo. Had a terrible run. I knew I was in real trouble 1/2 mile in to the race so had to get in to 'limp home' mode for the rest of the race with other runners going past me all the way through it. I felt really weak, legs were so heavy and I had no energy. Also had a sair heid before, during and after. If I'm honest with myself I haven't been feeling very well all week so hopefully I've just got a bug or something and it'll clear up soon. Really disappointed as I was hoping to do well in this one as I do a lot of running on trails.
On the plus side it was an excellent course with lots of hills in really nice surroundings. Oh well, I guess you have to take the good runs with the bad runs.

Shortened track session at Linwood track with the athletic club. Session was 4 x 400m with 200m jog recovery in 90 secs. Felt grim after a very stressful day at work - the joys of working for a front-line service in a local authority and having to deal with the public!

Intervals with the athletic club on the trails on Linwood Moss. Session was 2 x ((5mins (1min) + 4mins (1min) + 3mins (1min) + 2mins (1min) + 1min (1min)). Only did the first set of reps.
Good to see Ross Toole back after an absence of a few years from running. He still holds the course record for the Edinburgh Parkrun - 14mins 31secs!
