Mrs P took me for a recovery run round the City of Derry Parkrun course. Saw lots of other runners - mostly Sottish team members who I knew!

Good warm up before the British & Irish Masters XC Champs trying to stay calm.

British & Irish Masters XC Champs, Gransha Park, City of Derry. Running in the M50, M55 and M60 race. Course was flat and fast with a few tight turns and twists, and some sections of mud. 4 M60's from each of the 5 countries running. Knew I was the slowest of the 4 Scots running so started at the back with Alex from Garscube and we worked our way through the other runners until we found our place in the race. Ran a good solid race although I wobbled a bit towards the end of the last lap and Alex got away from me finishing a couple of seconds in front of me. Really pleased with my run and so glad I didn't let the team down 'cos we won the silver medal in the M60 team race. The medal is the biggest, heaviest and most impressive I've ever won. Too knackered for a cool down.

Off work today so went for a steady run round the various gravel, dirt and muddy paths round the Oilfields and Craigends. Legs a bit heavier than I would have liked.

Late home from work so missed the athletic club. Went for an enjoyable tempo run round the Oilfields and Ardgryffe.

Run from work at lunchtime to the Lomondgate SUDs pond, a few laps and back (starting to get bored with this run!).

Feeling better than I did at the weekend but my back has started to get quite sore. Really worried about this as the 3 times my back has collapsed before it's put me out of action for 8 weeks! Not sure what's caused this but it's worse when I've been sitting down so am trying to avoid this as much as possible.

Intervals with the athletic club on the trails on Linwood Moss in the wind and rain. Session was 1min (30secs) + 2mins (1min) + 3mins (90secs) + 4mins (2mins) + 5mins (2mins) + 5mins (2mins) + 4mins (2mins) + 3mins (90secs) + 2mins (1min) + 1min.

Only did the 4 and 5mins fast and took it fairly steady for the rest trying to save something for the weekend.
