12 PM

Running 1:32:00 [3] 9.0 mi (10:13 / mi)
shoes: Kalengi Kiprun Trail MT

Still not 100% and green gunge still coming from my throat. Drove up to Locherwood and ran very slowly through Ladymuir Plantation, over Craig Minnan, Windy Hill, a lap of Muirsheil Country Park and back. Enjoyed the run in spite of the cold and windy conditions.

9 AM

Running warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Fastwitch SS18

Warm up lap of the Linwood Parkrun course.

Running race 18:58 [5] 3.1 mi (6:07 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Fastwitch SS18

Linwood Parkrun. Throat really sore and lumps of green gunge now appearing so didn't feel very good. Thought I was running really well in spite of this and surprised I only ran 18.58. I guess I should be happy with this considering I am ill with the sore throat and I still have the track session in my legs. Hopefully all will be well for SOL 2 and the JK.

Running warm up/down 11:30 [3] 1.5 mi (7:40 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Fastwitch SS18

Faster than usual cool down lap of the course with Rab.

12 PM

Running 25:00 [3] 3.2 mi (7:49 / mi)
shoes: Kelengi Kiprun Trail XT7

Recovery run from work up to the Lomondgate SUDs pond, a couple of laps and back. A bit of a struggle as throat sore and feeling a bit under the weather. On the positive side, they have at last fixed the heating in the changing room / showers at work and it's now too hot after it being freezing all winter!

Thursday Apr 4 #

7 PM

Running warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Kalengi Kiprun SD

Usual warm up before the track session.

Running intervals 30:00 [5] 3.8 mi (7:54 / mi)
shoes: Kalengi Kiprun SD

Track session at Linwood track with the athletic club. Session was supposed to be 15 x 400m but the wind was so strong down the back straight that we could hardly run in to it so we changed the session to 15 x 300m (100m easy jog recovery (in to the wind!) in 1 min)).

Sore knee getting better but sore throat back. Running okay in spite of this.

Running warm up/down 12:30 [3] 1.5 mi (8:20 / mi)
shoes: Kalengi Kiprun SD

Cool down lap of the Linwood Parkrun course.

Wednesday Apr 3 #

6 PM

Running 54:00 [3] 6.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Kalengi Kiprun Trail MT

Work got in the way of my lunchtime run again, but not too disappointed as the weather was foul and I was soaked from being out on site all morning.

Went for a run from the house on the paths in the woods round the Oilfields and Craigends. Knee still not great and getting worried about it. Classic symptoms of runners' knee I think - sore but eases off as I run. Seems okay a few hours after it. Fingers crossed.

Tuesday Apr 2 #

6 PM

Running 36:00 [3] 4.2 mi (8:34 / mi)
shoes: Kelengi Kiprun Trail XT7

Really tired from the exertions of the past few days so an easy run over to Houston House Woods, a short lap and back. Right knee still not happy.

Monday Apr 1 #

7 PM

Running warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks GTS 17

Warm up before intervals.

Running intervals 40:00 [5] 5.5 mi (7:16 / mi)
shoes: Brooks GTS 17

Intervals with the athletic club on the trails on Linwood Moss and a cold, wet and windy evening. Session was 6 x 5mins (2mins easy jog recovery).

Really tired after yesterday's race so didn't (couldn't) run too fast. Right knee not 100%.

Running warm up/down 8:00 [3] 1.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks GTS 17

Shortened cool down run due to the weather.
