Note

The quality of orienteer in M50 must have gone downhill a lot in 2019 as I find myself ranked 4th!

Mountain/Fell running 1:47:00 [3] 12.6 km (8:30 / km) +2600ft 6:28 / km
weight:154lbs shoes: Hoka Challenger 3 Resoled

Win Hill-Lose Hill-Win Hill.
Always fancied doing this. The weather was nice, and as I was over that way anyway seemed rude not to.
Left hamstring completely knackered throughout and favouring it a lot.
Apart from that all was good. Climbing well and descending easy.

Road running 1:35:24 [3] 15.1 km (6:19 / km) +800ft 5:51 / km
shoes: Hoka Speedgoat

Tipsy Sportsman race, Sheffield
My first time doing this so didn't know quite what went on. Map was way too small to read even with the correct contact lenses in (everyone else knew where all the pubs were as they are all locals and many didn't bother with the map). Followed Tim as far as I could towards Crosspool (2km 9:15 even with all the climb), but already left hamstring was feeling really tight and rough do had to let him go. Waited in the pub whilst having a half and hooked up with two locals who had a sensible plan for about 15 km and six pubs. Ran with Kevin and Richard until the last couple of miles when it was just a race to get back. Six pubs and six halves for me. Someone managed 21km and eight pints in the 100 mins! My score doesn't put me last but not far off!

Orienteering 1:02:53 [3] 10.75 km (5:51 / km) +350ft 5:34 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Phillips Park, Manchester forest orienteering.
Very wet and boggy in the forest as well as a bramble-fest. Ouch.
Second half of course lots of path running.
Left hamstring tired and getting weak for last ten mins.
Disappointed to be so far down (13 mins) especially when I thought I was running quick in the second half. Lack of strength I suppose.
