Feel like I've been pushing it a bit since last weekend so had a much easier day to try and restore myself a bit. Lovely sunny cruise with Adam.

Running 16:03 [4] 5.0 km (3:13 / km) +72m 3:00 / km
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Streak 5

Went down to parkrun for want of anything else to do and to get some training done before essaying. Felt pretty tired and grindy, faster first lap then just chilled and settled. Had some lovely arguments with the jobsworths shouting at me to get off the road but I reckon it was a better call to run alongside 20mph traffic than booting a child in the head.

Easy ore breakfast. Going to be in a better routine than the last couple of weeks with finishing uni and only exams to go now.
2 PM

Running 1:22:50 [2] 16.87 km (4:55 / km) +487m 4:17 / km
shoes: Salming Trail T2

Easy one out in Rivelin. Stannington, Dams, Wyming and home on top path. Generally felt trudgy but legs better than earlier in the week. More sleep needed. Some tasty metreage this week.

Short middle style course on Eccy Woods. Felt very tired and not concentrating which is criminal in this area.

Relaxed sprint training around Walkley. Had to be given the last few days. Orienteered really well though, nailed my corridors and enjoyed myself.

Burbage Skyline - 1st
Debated putting this as a 4 but effort wise it will have been right up there. Fully debated not running this at all, struggling to even walk the last couple of days and legs have felt shot to bits since Sunday, but I'd entered and it was a nice evening so what you gonna do. Settled in early behind Joe, Alex and Saville, just letting them dictate the climb but even at the relatively easy pace my body was groaning. Hit the skyline and decided the flat was as good a place as any for me to try and push because it hurt the least. Skimmed nicely over the rocks with the intention of essentially banking time against the others before expecting them to catch me later. Off the top of the stream and over to Higger I just tapped it out and knew if I could keep moving they couldn't put too much in to me. Felt better letting loose on the descent but took a bit of a crappy line. Steep Higger climb I got more from walking then intended on really pushing the flat between there and the Nick but had to stop for 10s or so and let the others catch up to find directions! Got away but this happened again at the top of the next climb so had to try and crush the descents. One more hesitation for direction on Carl Walk then it was just about keeping shifting, despite a big fall in the bog, and not letting the others have a sniff on the final climb after the stream crossing. Held out for the win by around 30s.
Really fun new route and surprised to have won tonight. Legs never felt good but felt strong mentally to just keep grinding away, especially nice having had to stop so much!

Running warm up/down 33:00 [1] 7.0 km (4:43 / km) +50m 4:33 / km
shoes: Icebug Acceleritas 4 RB9X

Lots of trying to wake the legs up, not much luck.

Out with Matt on Wetherlam, Swirl How and the Coniston slopes. Felt tough after yesterday, legs absolutely shot and any descending hurt. Amazing day for it though and nice company made this a pleasure.
