Short loop with Mary then on my own on the fields. Not the best weekend for training but good to have some down time. Looking forward to the next 2 weeks build up now.

Note

Some time at home and M's grandad's 80th so no time. Pretty wiped out anyway and don't want to cook it before 2 weeks time.

SYO Lodge Moor event. Cracking new area from Dom. Nice course with a mix of fast running, technical housing estates and woodland. Tried to push hard and generally kept the nav under control. One mistake going the wrong side of a hedge as I thought the circle was offset (bad discipline) and missing a path in the woods at the end but otherwise felt pretty on it.
Physically pretty wiped all day but perked up a lot in the evening. Still need more sleep.

Long-o training which Oli planned for me on Wharncliffe. Nice mix of runnable forest, rocky sections and grotty bits. Orienteering quite well, especially on the fine nav but the terrain made it tough going meaning longer and medium legs felt a bit disjointed, tough to keep contact and upright. Couple of bad exit directions and loss of focus coming in to the circles. Definitely frustrated by it at times but worked to keep chugging through. Physically still quite tired too, not sleeping too well.

Running warm up/down 5:00 intensity: (1:11 @1) + (3:49 @2) 1.0 km (5:00 / km)

ahr:153 max:186 shoes: NVii Terra TT

Nice day so headed out to Derwent to enjoy it. Great run along the edge to Abbey Brook then looped around and got caught in some grot before cutting back up to the edge. Hadn't really planned a route and was longer than expected. Pretty tired climbing but fine otherwise. Did some Nvii stuff too.
May be a bit bias with helping M to promote these, but the Terra TT are brilliant shoes! Light, responsive, grippy but still super cushioned, comfortable and durable. Not worn anything quite like them on the hills before, really cool.
