(injured)

Woke up knackered from the previous 36 hours - brain dead, body unwilling.

Indoor climbing UCR with Steve. Totally wrecked myself, in a good way. many many hard climbs that I was useless on but it's all good training.

Tim Tett on his way down again - 2nd time in 3 nights - time to start charging rent? ;)

Orienteering race 47:20 [5] 6.2 km (7:38 / km) +103m 7:03 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265 Blue

BOK level C Leigh woods - Blue.

Hilarious start (not really) as soon as I got there I was entrenched in moving cars & a VW van out of the mud at the side of the road. Geoff Ellis turned up in his Range rover & got his tow ropes out. It was all rather fraught, and the woman's VW bumped a boulder, and I thought, please can I go run?

Blue, 5km, 215m . OMG Leigh woods in mud & slippery slopes. Unfit / "injured", so only Blue (a Brown was wayyy too far - Clive retired....).

I asked Chris at the start to pick me a Blue map, and I sprinted off with it. Sadly he'd actually given me a Brown. So I got to Brown no 1 (which was in wrong place, so I coudlnt' find it) , with the wrong code (my desc's on my wrist were for Blue). Lost a fair few minutes; found it in wrong depression, realised I had Brown map, and bagged it off. Jogged back to the start.
Here's the debacle that my 2017 started with:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1514686... - FFS!!!

This along with ridiculous prior knowledge of area, meant I was non comp from here at my own insistence.

Vile run - unfit, massive hangover, allergic from catty night, sleep deprived, muddy, no 6 map was wrong place (too low - spur not niche, Mark!) - caught Teresa Maria Rush here. Had to focus to drop her as she's no slouch. Mind you, she's very visually appealing, so maybe I should have stuck around a bit?

Staggering round last part of course still making sloppy errors, and running soooo slowly, what an old crock, unfit, LH hamstring hurting too much but not horrendous. Think I got route to no 14 right as I won that over Owain. Mind you Owain would have barely been jogging.

47 mins, and "won", but non comped myself at Download (no 1 was via Brown's no 1, so only right).

Grim.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Had kind of planned to maybe cycle a bit, or jog 12-15 mins, or whatever, but it started raining so I just stayed in bed / on sofa.

Then went out & got properly plastered (I had no piss up at NYE, remember ) - friend's retirement party, also celebrating Mark Burley's 30th birthday in style with beer & prosecco. Happy Birthday Mark!

Bed 1:30, in Liz's spare room, drunk, with face covered in a purring cat. Oh god.

Note
(injured)

Leg "sore" from cycling, it would seem.

Indoor climbing at RedPoint, with Clio for the 2nd time.

I was burning her off early on, on the steep, reachy, "manly" stuff.

She then took things up a notch to 6b+ / 6c and I got spanked. She's pretty darn good. And young & supple - I'm neither. Old crock. Lower back nearly popping with the strain.

Need to find a yoga / pilates class.

Bike ride to town, then back via Southville.

50 minutes in all?

Pretty lame.

Running 14:00 [1] 2.0 km (7:00 / km) +30m 6:31 / km
(injured) shoes: Brooks Ravenna 5

Gentle jog to see how injury/ pain in LH hamstring is doing.

Not too bad, miles better than 3 weeks ago - probably time to start rehabbing myself now.

along with osteopath, and a new years resolution to do more structured stretching & mobility.

not a little envious to see pics & results of Malham fell race, in which I now realise I ran very well in last year :(
