(rest day)

Injuries improving - good.

Looks like i pull out of house purchase.

£850 on solicitor fees plus £450 on survey.

I just want to live in another part of the Bristol area. No reason being in the south?

Bit tragic to have wasted 3 months getting that wrong, eh. rent over 3 months = £2550

Orienteering race (Urban) 42:24 [5]
shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

Pembs w/e urban - Tenby - started on beach! Reasonable night in tent.

Still slightly upset stomach. Started very slow. Cockup at no 4 - typical Phil urban - not getting it! (3D).

Only other real mistake was going from 23 to 25, then of course back to 24, then 25 again. this only lost me 45 seconds, in fact!

Megan beat me easily, and catching Clare Dallimore right near the end meant I got shown where the last 2 controls were, so gained a minute on Megan there, which was a fluke really.

Splendid weekend - so glad I made it despite being "ailing".
Only 3rd place in Vets, sob! 1st V50 mind, & 1st BOK.
Many thanks to everyone for a great w/e. Loved Ben's map today!

Orienteering race 45:02 [4] 7.0 km (6:26 / km) +213m 5:35 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265 Blue

Note: Severe (and i mean severe - I sh&t myself) diarhoea first thing after another very bad night

BAOC Pembs w/e day 1, Mynydd Preseli Ddwyrain

Only the Blue, 6.3km /160m. chilled out about it, due to stomach & dog wound, (still aching). just trundled along feeling happy about my nav, the tricky controls all went fine, very little time loss. 1 min at 15 due to lazy compass "work". Quite strong on the hilly bits; not half bad.

Won it, tho defo not the fastest - just the most consistent.

Camping in YHA Manorbier (S Pembs coast) - with Scott's pink VW van. Beers al fresco. Just brilliant.

Note: morning meeting at Bristol Uni with Scientific team for MEGA project.

Viewed a house in Fishponds afterwards.. In turmoil over house.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Dog wound still sore & bruised & painful.

Clearly these things aren't trivial. I will need a lot longer to recover.

Hip a little better but still finding moving around painful. Ibuprofen.

On advice from others, reported the attack to 101 police.

Note
(injured) (sick)

Dog wound much more bruised & swollen - my optimism last nite was obviously way off the mark.

Hip really sore too, probably from sitting differently after the wound, keeping it elevated.

bed with painkillers all afternoon, feeling utterly shit, and pulled out of tyntesfield 10k tonight, at which I was hoping to win Vet50. Another opportunity taken from me.

I've gone off dogs. Anyone who wants to take offence - be my guest.

Note
(injured)

Was advised to go to MIU to get dog bite / scratch checked out.

they said I'd be fine, so let's hope so. no antibiotics, and tetanus up to date, so hopefully all good.

Painkillers tonight tho. 10k off road race tomorrow. Hmmm.
11 AM

Running 38:30 [3] 8.0 km (4:49 / km) +40m 4:42 / km
(injured) shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

Easy run in rain & wind round parks, once warmed up, i felt good & pretty happy.............. steady bouncy pace...........

..... until in Hengrove park i rounded a corner & was immediately attacked by two dogs, one of which drew blood.

Rant on FB, but let's just say I was extremely cross about this. Especially with race tomm evening that I'm looking fwd to.

SICK of idiot dog owners who look at their fucking PHONES when they should be controlling their STUPID ANIMALS.

new shoes - Brooks Ravenna 8 - hadn't bought a new pair since autumn 2014. Felt great. despite dogs.
