Note
(injured)

Hip really sore again - uinbelievable. as tho the BOK Blast w/e was all one long good dream ....

sigh. Indoor bouldering at Bloc, with Clio & a mate of hers, was good but pretty wiped from w/e racing & the chronic pain.

Climbed OK, 3 or 4 reds, and some v v easy comp problems - 6a & 6a+ (no way......). Generally quite flat tho.

Pulling out of even "training" the 10k road race tomorrow now - sold entry on. Rest for Jukola now.

Note
(injured) (sick)

Note: Endured a diabetes hypo when i got home (heavy sack on back - cycling). Nearly shaking.

Worst attack this year to date.

luckily the triathlon was on TV so i sat there & pigged out on crap & drank sweet tea & recovered.
10 AM

Orienteering race 44:22 [5] 9.0 km (4:56 / km) +65m 4:45 / km
(injured) shoes: Saucony Fastwitch 6

BOK Blast day 2, UK league level, C, 6.3km Early start (helper)

"Stiff" this morning. Cycled in to race centre as yesterday.

Just not remotely in the zone at the start, laughable, headband not on, descriptions not properly sorted, Garmin not working (pilot error) - very slow off the mark - cost me a podium . Pottered round 1st few catching Clare H a minute by no 7 (!), then not bad for a while before falling asleep at 13 (40 seconds) - oops. silly me.

Not bad from here on, one hesitancy later no 27 - 15 secs). and also a silly route to no 31 (20 secs).

Last km in 4:01 - self-respect for that. Was pushing it for sure - & knew where to go as this was my commute when I worked! :)

Triple chicked (sexist phrase?) - Cecilied, as well as obviously Massively Meganned (this is actually mandatory now, and a pleasure when she's going this well), and Rollinned (W40). Bah.

Orienteering race 50:13 [5] 9.3 km (5:24 / km) +175m 4:56 / km
(injured) shoes: Saucony Fastwitch 6

Woke at 5:30 am with hip pain. fell asleep - got up 8:30, and pain had eased.... OK....

cycled to BOK BLast, and warmed up - not bad.
Actually raced the thing, and whilst it wasn't good really, it was 80% better than I could have hoped.

VERY cross at losing 2½mins at no 17, as not confident about crossing a road & not getting DQed.

very hot, felt very unfit, really struggling at end - calves (LH funny that) cramping up.

I must have gained a minute thru local knowledge, but even so, this is a poor run. But better than the past 11 days of constant, hideous pain!

so Rupert's deep uper glute tissue massage (it HURT) yesterday clearly helped - and hopefully, this is also Lisa's treatments from Tuesday settling down. fingers crossed......

Edit : so close! FFS! Monumental cock up at no 18 when i had a big winning lead. Gutted.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Woke feeling someone had thumped my LH hip/buttock (upper glute) with an iron bar.

As 10 days ago. OK. White flag raised / towel being thrown.

Saw osteo re shoulder (climbing injury); but asked him instead to try to work on the knot in my glute, cos I'm in daily 24/7 pain & it's getting really tiring.

unless there's a miracle, no BOK Blast for me. And Jukola, I have decided the most I can do/expect is enjoy the experience of the trip, and then on my return, retire for the season UFN.

Running 16:30 [1] 1.5 mi (11:00 / mi) +25m 10:28 / mi
(injured) shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

Back slightly better this morning.

Tried a gentle jog - don't even feel like a runner anymore! Fish out of water.

will do the same tomorrow and then decide if i can run Vet50+ at the BOK Blast. Right now I feel like a cripple. But things could change. Right?

Back not too bad afterwards. Calf / hamstring on LHS felt like they were under pressure - oh no.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Still very sore, tight lower back.

Managed a short walk but nothing else, & again lay on bed with hot water bottle on hip. & dozed.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Woke in pain in lower LH back. So climbing was a bad idea, then. Ostepath.

2 cracks to upper back (surprise), one later to lower back. All seemed effective. As expected, told to do fuck all for 48 hours.

Wiped out later - crap weather, told to "stay warm" (it's JUNE.....), so went to bed with laptop & tea & hot water bottle on sore hip/arse and fell asleep 3 times.

Brilliant
