Orienteering race (Urban ) 20:03 [5] 3.83 km (5:14 / km) +90m 4:41 / km
shoes: Saucony Fastwitch 6

5 days of Italy urban sprint (quite long for a sprint)- in Auronzo. Very very hot & humid. Struggled to move, v sluggish, route choice error immediately (25 seconds), no 3 a bit dodgy 15secs, went in too early no 8, 15 seconds. Only prepared to let rip after road crossing, making up 2 places to be 5th, only 33 seconds behind 2nd. Dryest mouth ever? Can’t deal with 33degree heat to run in......

Gentle jog around 7 controls of model area. Woods nice temperature. V enjoyable & map made perfect sense. Cooled off near/in river afterwards.... 33 degrees or so. Ridiculous.

Interesting walk with Chas & Neil around model area. Too hot in sun by far, but pleasant in woods. Map & area seemed great! Heatwave outrageous, sadly.

Trad climbing in Avon gorge with Tim Tett - Piton Route, to do the Classic Rock solitary Avon route (VS 4c) (used to be HS 4b back in't day....). Hadn't done this since the 1990s! Was great fun leading it, & Tim enjoyed it a lot, despite the polished limestone & old old rusty pegs... . see facebook.

PACKING!!!! for Le Grand Depart 2019.
