Note
(rest day)

Hungover and nausea in the night, felt v v tired, in fact two cars stopped / called to check on me at a layby near Skipton! (I was fine, but thanks)

Had hoped to run / orienteer @ AIRE / walk to Malham / go jogging somewhere nice, but all fell thru due to my state, & also shite weather.

Back to Tetts & a restful evening there. (once we'd unloaded the entire van.....)

Note
(rest day)

Overslept & slept badly. Watched race at Gordale Scar, spent half the day with Helen & William, nice cafe lunch after in Malham, walk back to Gordale for car.

TIM TETT TURNS SIXTY: Major evening, poshed up, and vast array of food & drink which was awesome, and I have no regrets, wow there was some bad behaviour (*), was it the mixture driving everyone bonkers????? :-)

(*) of the silly games variety, of course, - nothing naughty. Think "face down in black forest gateau" naughty, or " after 8 mint on your face" silly.

Orienteering race 15:50 [3] 2.5 km (6:20 / km) +50m 5:45 / km
shoes: Innov8 MudClaw 300 2019

Paul Taylor's Malham O relay - no team , so ran anyway, cold & tough but nice to move & not feel I was dying, and not feel battered afterwards, quite the opposite. Yay!

Charlie did around 13 mins & I am still going to be well off that pace, but this is promising.

No exhaustion later, just as well, as DJing and doing quiz music etc for about 6 hours and drank over 4 pints of beer too. "Dry-anuary" is a joke, right?

Bed 1am and no chance of sleeping for a few hours.........

Note

Bloc boudering session; up north again after that. M5 already "shut" and traffic "being turned around" near Gloucester, adding to the price I'm paying for my leak on NYE.

Climbing (Bouldering) 1:00:00 [3]

Bloc bouldering. Shoulder a bit annoying.

(rest day)

First day of a new decade. Hey ho.

All I can say is, that this makes no difference: the last 2 months of 2019, I was unable to do any endurance sport whatsoever without huge payback (JUST AS WELL I HAVE NO JOB!!) due to viral illnesses & their after effects, and my goal for the early part of 2020 is to get over this, so I can resume again. Gently. So this means no "training" as we know it,

When I will be "better", really is another matter. It will involve a lot of rest & patience.

(For those that don't know. I lost 7 years of my life, my career, all my hobbies/sport/social, and more, to post viral fatigue syndrome / ME, 1998 - 2005 - So I have history with reactions to viruses. This is PEANUTS compared to early 1998..... then, I was fully disabled & was on long term benefits for 3 years+)

If you're healthy, enjoy, & don't take it for granted. My 2019 was my best year ever, and by October I felt invincable (Swiss O week, Pentland VHIs, Liverpool urban, CSC apart from Clive.... . I'm so far from that now, it's like a long dream I had. A great dream!

Happy New Year all.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

GREAT UPDATE: Spent New years eve 11:30 - 2:15am driving back to Bristol due to a leak from my flat into the flat below - as two months ago - assumed it was the tap exploding again. (the water pressure to the building is known to be high: it should be 1-5, it's actually 8).

In fact to my relief it wasn't the taps exploding (let's enjoy the video again shall we? RRR? ;-) https://youtu.be/j3kcB47pvSM ), which would have meant serious flooding again, it was "merely" a pinhole in the 3-way splitter

The saga is on FaceF**k if anyone's interested. I'm not interested in anything apart from eating & sleeping. Malham? Hmm not sure now . £40 on petrol binned. And I can't do much up there anyway.

Ticking "ill" as I'm utterly SICK of it all & beyond tired.

My NYResolution is for NOTHING REMARKABLE OR SHOCKING TO EVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Oh dear. Seem to have postviral or "allergic" "rhinitis", but I reckon I just need to take it easy for a few (more) weeks.

Thought for the day: POM isn't looking likely, & nor is my "defence" of my short lived M50 "title" at the Southern champs at end Jan - tho this seems to have been delayed (BKO) until autumn now, as was the BOK 2019 version. Plus ca change. http://www.bko.org.uk/event/long-valley-north-29-n...

Sorting out all my crap & travelling to Sheffield & beyond for 6 days' bedlam. But no running or anything major. Yarrr!
