Apparently Ross Barkley , a soccer player, claimed a 16:11 5k - but his elapsed time was 21 mins.

And a (since deleted) young lady ran downhill, claimed "nothing but pain" for her 21:48 pb. Elapsed time: 51 minutes.

Now to take it to extremes. the #rossbarkley5km has been done in 15:29 but over 61 minutes.

I may try it: 50 x 100m as fast as possible. Pause watch after each one. What time could i get? My best on the road was 15:37 ...... :-)

Above Long ashton - beautiful day, used the "new" "guideline" to drive a short way for this one.
Very few COVID cases in the SW / Bristol area, 4 weeks in . Lockdown working. Good! But local media still banging on v hard about every single tragic story. How about saying it's working & letting us get on with stuff? (with due care of course) (police helicopter still in evidence.....)

For example, the SW is doing so well that the National news graphs no longer show it in their "curves". Why?

Because we're expected to keep thinking we're *all* at equal risk and measures are being put in place for ALL across the UK. Stay at home - save lives. Except those people who are becoming suicidal because they're so horribly isolated in an area where fewer than 0.1% are actually infected. Cure worse than the cause?

The warm up, recovery km, and trundle back WD. No issues, 5:00 pace felt like a jog compared to 3:37 pace. Which is telling......

Been mooting this for a week or so - if i'm going to try to pace Mike to sub-20 5km, i need to remind myself what that pace is like. Answer: pacey.

Was OK, tho perhaps the second km made me realise how bad I've got?

Then banged out another after a relaxed 4:55 km, just to see. Rather painful. No chance to equal EPOCSpookster's 3:21. 5min/km pace on the portway is like jogging!

The km was 3:37, not 3:39.

nb. last night woken twice, 3am creaking floorboards above bedroom. Moved to & from sofa twice. It's true: there's no place like home.....

Lovely day, intended 45 mins 9km, but after the huge hill of Nightingale valley, (segment), pushed on & felt fine.

Only mistake was not having a quick puff of ventolin first - tight / wheezy for first 20 mins. This is cat-related, they are on my bed from 6am onwards now. Not sick.

10km in effectively sub 45 mins, firm going but a lot off road. How long will this take to recover from? no intestinal issues .
