Note
(sick) (rest day)

Felt terrible after breakfast & this continued all day. Bailed on indoor climbing.

Need to look into a HR monitor to wear during runs - I'm clearly over-straining my system. Recommendations? (thanks in advance)

New lockdown means my Greece trip is off, so November is over before it's started a.f.a.i.c.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Struggled to recover from 12k run yesterday. Hmmm. Heart rate was high too - 173 - 180+ for > 95% of the run - is this healthy at 56? I don't think so?

Very poor night's sleep - uncomfortable due to exertion. Grim.

Edit: Felt much worse in evening - like ME/cfs again. Oh no.

Running 53:56 [4] 12.0 km (4:30 / km) +100m 4:19 / km
ahr:179 max:192 shoes: Brooks Ravenna 10

Tempo run over stoke park and into Frenchay area via the "BOK BLAST" starting area from 2019. A bit slippery in places on wet grass & recent mud. Quick scuttle around segment at sub 4 pace, then settled down & tried to keep pace around 4:15 as terrain became easier to navigate (roads/grassy verges). Rather weary & lacking "zip". Tired afterwards. Quality tempo session tho.

Climbing (Bouldering) 1:00:00 [4]

Indoor bouldering at TCA, for a change.

Quite hard work, and pretty useless, but worthwhile. the finger with thorn puncture in it wasn't great, & I suspect will now fill with pus before bursting in the next few days.

Note
(rest day)

Beaten up - 5 sprint courses in a day is clearly rather a lot!

Bad thorn sustained yesterday in ring finger - swollen/throbbing - no amount of TCP & hot salty water is shifting it. Hard to sleep!

RH top of foot was starting to hurt yesterday later on, and sore today. Hmm.

Orienteering race (Urban) 26:48 [4] 5.27 km (5:05 / km) +50m 4:51 / km
shoes: adizero adios 4

Long day doing UsynligO courses in east Bristol.....

Kingswood East Vets heat: 2nd to Scott, not bad, phone issues issues at no 1 & had to bin it & start again.

Kingswood East Vets final, 1st place, went well despite rain & gusty wind. Fun.

Orienteering race 29:00 [4] 4.3 km (6:45 / km) +60m 6:18 / km
shoes: Innov8 MudClaw 300 2019

After brew, butty & my weekly shop at LIDL, it was off to Rodway for the "forest" sprints.

Heat: again, no 1 a no-no: took 90 secs at the control site to register, so again, binned it off & started again. I don't really care, but something's weird.

Heat Ok, just slower than Scott, not sure re. route to no 13. I went up Pomphrey & then down into the crap. Wasn't great but getting to the motorway route looked impossible.

Final: well, wow what can i say. no1 I could barely get into the wood. But no 3 - I misread the two rather pleasant, non-fight copses for runnable on the map, not the two small light green patches, and had come out too far west from the slope. Could not make anything fit at all - 2mins?

then 4 beeped too quickly, so I was in wrong area for no 5, another minute. Laughable; carried on, not really knowing why the thing sang the tune. (I'd changed my GPS settings to 20m, as at 15m, it was saying it wasn't accurate enough......). I also did not go to the underpass, and you clearly should, looking at the map, but the phone sang to me & I took it.

So 3rd, 3 mins down, behind Paul too. Fill yer boots.

Orienteering 11:34 [3] 1.8 km (6:26 / km) +30m 5:56 / km
shoes: Innov8 MudClaw 300 2019

Wasn't happy so just set off immediately & re-ran the course. actually went to site no 4 ie. found the crag this time! and other sites I'd not really "found". Found the gap in the wall after no 14.
However, both should be void as again i did not go under the bridge to no 11. This sort of "catch out" control on sprints / urbans are my nemeses. Hey ho.

11:34, which is fastest, but of course, does not & should not count. DQ.

Note

Trad climb in Avon, just dry enough, sun too, Gronk, a 4 pitch classic 3-star VS 4c. Found the pitch 1 crux desperate! that'll teach me. The rest was great. Dom struggled, since his bad fall a week ago. Poor guy.
