Running (Intervals) 46:10 [5] 10.39 km (4:27 / km) +60m 4:19 / km
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 11

I'm clearly turning into a puffing plodder, so let's sort that out.

Plan was 5 x (1km at 4min pace, 1km at 5min pace as recovery).

Found the first 2 km efforts really hard, but that was cos they were both into the biting "wind".

Things were somewhat swifter on the way back.

5min pace seems very very slow when you've been running at 3:50 pace, and after the 5th & final effort, 6min km pace seemed really fast!!!!

5mins recovery is excessive, so probably will change that "next" time.

fast kms in
3:59 (hill)
4:00 (nasty wind) - wondering why i'm struggling so much!!!!

then:

3:48 (fast going round frenchay common)
3:52 (start on grass)
3:53 (180deg turn)

60m climb, really?

Knackered. Hmmmm.

Finding life very hard without a working boiler. Spent last night at Liz's & cats affected me (allergic). At least i got a hot shower....

Running 39:14 [3] 8.05 km (4:52 / km) +115m 4:33 / km
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 11

Steady 5m very wrapped up (hat / gloves / leggings)

Felt OK but breathing a bit bad - need ventolin. Spoke to nurse & new inhalers on their way. It's been an issue for a while.

Nice to run & not try hard. Brisk 8m walk yesterday was a "session".

Walking 2:43:00 [3] 13.01 km (12:32 / km) +180m 11:43 / km

Sunday 8-mile walk with Liz, part of her rehab, due to mud we stayed on mostly surfaced paths & roads, with some in woods & some mud.

All very nice, tho Liz tired by end, "aware" of knee but not too bad.

Fucking freezing (3 degrees ) - are we hard enuff for scotland? Doubt it!

Note
(rest day)

Beaten up & v slightly fluey (again...), post-fairly hard run.

This happens a lot now. Also, fluey in the night / achey / disproportionately.

Is it age? CFS? Unfitness? Combination?

Planned an hour's cycle ride today, but just walking to & back from Tesco will do, thanks.

Running 39:29 [4] 9.02 km (4:23 / km) +63m 4:14 / km
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 11

Nice morning. Sun. Felt perky. Ran to crash site yesterday, all swept up. Then ran back up Bell hill (puff puff!), & got into a sub-threshold cadence which I tried to keep up for 8km, the last 3km were a bit tough.

Last 5 miles 34:45; a 5km split of 21:24 is OK, nothing amazing (eg. Owain Jones ran a 8 mile split (during a 20 km run) of 43 mins.....)

No RH calf stabs, good, but 3 nasty LH calf spasms when I accelerated slightly at 4km. Then they went. New shoes are great.

Heckled by COVID fearers ("Give us more space!!!"). Some people really need to get a grip. Going to Tesco's grocery area is vastly more risky. From being 2m behind them to 2m in front (passing 1 metre on the right of them) takes about 2 seconds?

Anyway when I'm trying to maintain 4:10 pace i do not need to stop & wait - it interferes with my session (being deliberately obtuse here)

Sat in my grounds after in the sun - lovely.

Walk to two supermarkets, inluding a "new way" in between them. Kept watch running as I shopped. Wow my life is fun.

Massive accident on the way home, my photo is used in the report.
