5km time trial, 18:45-18:46 according to Strava
Climbing cancelled (by both of us - winter is back!) so quick chg of plan, felt frisky, so time to attack the BAD TRi 5km TT segment in the Portway.
All went v well, 3:44 at 1km, then a slight NW head-breeze plus a short rise (4m!), so only 3:53 for km 2.
Turn then immediately accelerated, km 4 in 3:41, then starting to suffer but the end was literally in sight, quick sprint and got the 18:45 with another 3:41 km.
Staggered back to car, but a few hours later, all good. Have felt very well since the COVID vaccine, possibly lending credence to the theory that I caught C19 in greece in Nov 2019.
Now entered a half marathon, may as well, I'm clearly on form on the roads. Fastest 5km since about 2017 but in 2016 I did 17:38 and also two back to back 18:22's en route to 36:44 at Clevedon 10km, so let's keep the hats on shall we.
Segment record holder - BOK's Owain Jones , 15:25. O.......... K.......... my segment time a pedestrian 18:36. (Beth Potter, of course, ran 14:41 last week on a racecourse, UK record / WR? )https://www.strava.com/activities/5084281003
