Evening run with the Trail Culture. It's so dark now, we turn the headlamps on right from the start. Today's 'decaffeinated' (aka slower) group was lead by Slice, we started at the Quarry Lake, run to Three Sisters and turned back.
Gorgeous evening, sky full of stars and snow dusted mountains all around - magical!

First time ever Amik and I went running together! It was great fun and he is super fast. We run his favourites at the Nordic Centre: Get In and Get out and Beluga. I can't wait to do it again:)

Trail running warm up/down 25:00 [3]

I decided to give the Dirtbag Runners group a chance tonight. I was told it's a mix group of abilities, but all I saw was the elite: CO, Carbon, Slice, Andy Reed, Adam Campbell and a bunch of other very fit looking athletes....hmmm, this will be interesting...;)
We met at the Nordic Centre and started with a warm up....25min of mostly uphill running, following Adam Campbell's pace. Great!

For some reason, we could not find a decent hill in the Rockies(!) and finally settled on a wide gravel path in the Meadow. Everyone shed their layers and we started 1min up and 1min down repeats. I was at the very back, trying to keep a consistent pace for the whole 30min.

By the time we finished, it was already dark so we put on our headlamps and headed back. I could really feel the muscles in my legs on this flat trail and I bet I will hurt tomorrow. Great workout!
