Trail running 1:12:40 [3] 7.07 km (10:17 / km) +325m 8:22 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 Pro

Evening run with the Trail Culture.
We did part of the dreaded Highline, but since it was a rather big group, I was not too intimidated. Stayed at the back most of the way. We took some pretty neat and fast single track on the way back.

Trail running (Hiking) 1:00:00 [3] 6.28 km (9:33 / km) +324m 7:36 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 Pro

Surprisingly hot day....I took the side trail to Grassi parking lot, then up to the lakes, then more up to the Spray Lakes Road and down via the Reclaimer. More bikers than usual on the Reclaimer, good thing they shout as they come near the corners, not much room nor time to jump off the trail:)
2 PM

Trail running 30:00 [3] 4.26 km (7:03 / km) +98m 6:19 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 Pro

Met my brother in law at the Nordic Centre for a quick chat, then he was off for more biking and I did a short out and back on my favourite trail. I would have gone for longer but I did not bring enough food and was running on empty.

Hiking (Little bit of running) 1:07:17 [3] 4.76 km (14:09 / km) +627m 8:32 / km

Sulphur Mountain
I did not push too hard on the uphill as I wanted to see how much it will take to power-hike. Not too crowded so early in the morning. Closer to the top I heard someone behind me, fast approaching....I looked back and it was an older lady. She did not run, but hiked really fast.....so fast in fact, that she passed me! I tried to keep up but lost her at the next corner. Man, that was inspiring! I saw her at the top and we chatted for a bit. She hikes Sulphur quite often, it usually takes her about 50 minutes! I guess that's my challenge from now on ;)
I walked to the Cosmic Ray Station and enjoyed the views. Then it started pouring and I got drenched! Luckily, it didn't last very long.
11 AM

Trail running (Downhill) 31:47 [3] 5.02 km (6:20 / km) +31m 6:08 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3 Pro

Super fun downhill, absolutely loved it! More tourists though at this time of the day.
I passed the older lady on the downhill as she was taking it easy since she had knee replacements.
I think I will do that trail more often.

Trail running intervals 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon S-Lab Sense 4 Ultra SG

Dirtbag run. Since we were meeting rather close to home, I rode my bike to the meeting place. We were running on Highline Trail, doing 3min run + 3min rest x 8
If I could describe my run in one word, it would be: pathetic.
I could hardly run any hills, my legs felt super tired. I think I need a rest day tomorrow:) Apart from the uphills, the Highline trail is awesome.
So, I am riding back home and all of a sudden see something black to my right. I slow down and there it is: a black bear eating berries by the side of the road, few meters from me! As I was passing him/her, it stood on its hind legs. I stopped not far off and enjoyed watching him/her eat dinner. Then it crossed the road and was gone. What a sight!
As I was continuing on, I alerted a girl on her bike about the bear ahead....she stopped and I sensed she wanted some company so I turned around and rode with her for a bit, till we passed the spot where bear disappeared.

Biking (Road) 1:38:59 [2] 30.45 km (3:15 / km) +200m 3:09 / km

Commute home. All the way I was either chasing a storm or being chased by one but didn't actually get rained on till I got to Canmore. Good tailwind all the way. I finally saw the inhabitant of a pond that's along the Legacy Trail - the furry Amik. He was checking me out, did few circles and dove in, without even slapping his tail - I guess he felt I didn't pose any threat ;)
