Walking 29:34 [1] 2.82 km (10:29 / km)

About 1.5" of snow changed to freezing rain before I got out on my ski's.

X country sking 45:00 [2] 5.73 km (7:51 / km)

One of my highlights each year is to drag out the X country skies and do a ski about. I get in about 1.5 days a year down here. We had enough 4" to do it today. After some shoe glue and duct tape the 35 year old ski boots held together for another time. Great cross training exercise for me.

Orienteering 4:00:00 [3] 8.0 km (30:00 / km)
shoes: Jalas - Spiked

I am grateful someone invented spiked shoes. It's been awhile since I've seen that much ice. I went to the camp today to put out controls and instead ended up picking up as many as I could before they shut it down. It turned out if I had stayed another 15 minutes I would have gotten caught in the traffic mess that started when it all changed to snow. I got them all picked up but 8. I was surprised I took it so well, but chugging around that stuff for 4 hours really mellowed me out. Since I have the maps done and printed, I guess we will reschedule the meet. I'm leaning towards June. Payroll and Taxes are starting up right now, so that's the earliest I will get to it.

Walking 29:16 [1] 2.82 km (10:23 / km)

pulled out my spiked shoes they've not been used since last winter. Plan to set the last controls in the AM. Given all the leaves and rain that have fallen, I will need all the help I can get.

Orienteering 29:19 [1] 2.82 km (10:24 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia NI

they have posted a winter storm watch for Friday here. This could really muck up things for the meet on Saturday. My understanding is most of the snow/ice will be north and west of Louisville. But I guess I will have to get on Facebook and start responding since I am getting emails about this.

The camp has a steep entrance road and their policy is to close the camp if this has ice or snow on it. I don't see that happening since the roads and ground around here are so warm, but I have put in an email to the ranger.

Orienteering 28:14 [2] 2.82 km (10:01 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia NI

New pair of shoes. The other had 260 miles on them. They are working okay with inserts but they are wearing out.

Walking 14:00 [2] 1.41 km (9:56 / km)

Orienteering 3:45:00 [3] 5.5 km (40:55 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Put out the remote controls today for the Goat with Arnie. Hilly and rocky are the two main descriptive terms for the area. The rest I will put out on Friday.
