Orienteering race 35:32 [4] 2.9 km (12:15 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia NI

Good Course - A lot more forest than most of our sprints. My speed continues to increase slowly.

It was dark before we got out of the park. Good turnout considering the I-65 bridge was down to one lane due to an accident. 2nd street bridge was closed due to the construction project. It took some people an hour to get to the park.

Special thanks to Matt! I downloaded the new version of SI simple, it works. I reread the download box. The diagnostics showed an SI - 11 card. It included our visitor's card in the results. So we're in business on the newer SI cards.

Walking 29:51 [1] 2.2 km (13:34 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Finishing up the Sprint map for the Girl Scout HDQ. I will wait till a couple days before the meet to make sure none of the controls are in a homeless camp.

Was also working on the Camp Stem map using some of the Global mapper and Lidar data that Arnie had sent me.

Walking 35:24 [1] 2.82 km (12:33 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

I had hoped to make it to INDY for the sprints but could not snag a ride. The drive time was estimated at 2 hrs 15 min by map quest. I would have to have stopped 3 times if I was driving. I could have made it up, but not back in the same day.

Looking forward to the canoe O in August.

My weekly therapy walk. My first without pain meds felt good until 10.3 KM then the tail bone let me know it's still healing. No ibuprofen for 4 days but I will take one at bedtime tonight. My left wrist has now healed to wear it can lift a cup of coffee.

Mapping in the just opened section of the Parks at Floyd's Fork. First railroad trestle on any of our maps. One section of this walk today felt like a real Orienteering section - Big Beech Trail - saw a coyote - only a couple people on that trail.

Walking 35:14 [1] 2.82 km (12:30 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Spent a little time doing an overview of the area I will be mapping on my therapy walk tomorrow. I learned that the KY division of forestry bought 98 acres next to the Parks at Floyd Forks. This is an old Black Walnut Farm. Going to try and get an early start tomorrow to try and beat the heat moving back in.

Walking 35:16 [1] 2.82 km (12:30 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Have been puzzled over an SI Simple message upon reading a finger stick on Tuesday evening.

SI Simple posted "could not guess course maybe runner did not clear or punched after finish"

I used the special diagnostic software that comes with Sport ID equipment and downloaded the box and all the raw data on it. From the raw data it appears he did the course with no errors.

His finger stick had an email address hard coded on it. I sent a message to it but it no longer works. At any rate it was a number range I have not seen before so I'm hoping this was not a case of SI Simple not being able to read newer finger sticks. We use the SI-6 and SI-8 cards, but I thought Bruce was using a newer one. At any his finger stick  #9789152. He was from Texas don't know if he will be back again.

Walking 34:16 [1] 2.82 km (12:09 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Replaced the pads in the shoes.

I have been pleased the 3rd charger has been charm on the green European batteries. They came with the thermal printer with the download boxes. I used the charger they sent - it did not work. Then I used my regular one - no luck. So I got a different one and so far works great. The printer has worked the last 3 sprints without having to replace the batteries. I do recharge after every sprint.
