Walking 17:00 [1] 1.41 km (12:03 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia NI

We had 25 at the Sprint tonight. The rain and holiday week kept several away.

Orienteering race 19:08 [4] 1.5 km (12:45 / km)
shoes: OROC Spiked

Never could get into the race tonight. Very deliberate just not motivated. I just did not feel like myself.

Rain kept the temperature down, but it was very humid.

Kayaking 3:06:00 [3]

Went to a new boat ramp on Taylorsville Lake - Van Buren Ramp. A launching point for serious fishing. Janet and I went up river leaving the lake and going up Salt River for just a bit before turning around and coming back. Passed two fishing camps set up on the banks complete with tents and lots of fishing poles.

This boat ramp provides access to at least 6 creeks that feed into the lake. It will take awhile to do them all. This boat ramp is the best I have since on Taylorsville Lake for kayaks since there are few big boats here, mostly just fishing boats.

Biking 3:10 [3] 13.6 km (14 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia NI

About 10KM on gravel roads and 3.6 KM of Bike Whacking (Walking the Bike). It started out cold in upper 30's but warmed up quickly. I went over to the East Plateau area down 60Meters of contours then right back up 55 meters. Road all the gravel roads in the East. Then down 55 meters back up 60 meters and Road all the gravel roads in the West Plateau.

I realized why we had problems last year with the roads. Whether it was a ride thru the woods or gravel, everything was marked the same on the map. Now all the gravel is marked as a road since you could drive a car on it. I think it will be much clearer this year.

The broken tail bone has pretty much healed up. My first trip on the bike was a success. I can ride for about 2 hours, then I was getting saddle sore. It took awhile to get used to a bike again. Gravel was hard to ride in places. I was careful since it had been a while, plus nobody was out there. So I was on my own.

Walking 36:00 [1] 2.82 km (12:46 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia NI

Got permission to work on the map at Camp Stem tomorrow. I'm planning on riding all the roads in the camp with my bike. It will be my first time on a bike since getting run over by a car on 06/21/14. But Carl is right I got to get some time on the bike before the Adventure Race which is coming up quickly. The roads in the camp have not been updated on the map in 20 years and there are some new ones to add.

Other 5:00 [3]

The tricky part tomorrow will be bike whacking thru the huge reentrant that separates the two ridge lines of the camp.
