Orienteering 1:10:00 [1] 2.3 km (30:26 / km)

We had 30 come out on a nice evening along the River. I had an interesting hour long conversation with a couple homeless people while setting and after setting controls.
This map was printed May 1 for a May 3 sprint that was canceled, so there were some issues when I placed controls since things change in 3+ months. I made some judgements that may have helped some and hurt others depending upon their route choice. Control 4 was on a root stock but a 2nd root stock had surfaced not on the map, so I put it on the first root stock you came to. Control 6 was on the east side of the stone wall but the map showed in on the west side. I could not get to the other side via the route I took, so I placed the control high hoping everyone would see it. Control 11 was on a fence that was completely covered with vines. I hoped everyone would see it or line up with the huge cement pillar in the river. Oh well, it was interesting and a fast course with 3 butterfly controls.
