Meet Louis III at EP Tom Sawyer Park. Got all the gear he was carrying from Deam Lake. Then I went and put in the missing control on the permanent course. Very wet, water was over my ankles - perfect condition for driving in Carsonite posts.

Control Pickup at Deam Lake. Got to the first control 388 - oh no they put these on metal stands - I cannot believe, makes it so hard to pick up. Metal stands are for sprints not the deep woods. Get to the second control 287, the point on the map is under water, I attack again from a different direction end up at the same spot. Ok move on to 285 get it. It is so green 5 M visability, so thick and dragging these metal control stands thru this brush pure agony. I attacked control 373 from 285 cross country walk right by it - did not see it. The control was under a log?? My GPS tracks confirm I walked by it the first time. Had to go to the top of the hill and backtrack down to find it. Moved on to 272 no problem, 269 was on one of those extra long metal poles. I had to cross the creek at 269. The little 2 foot creek was backed up from the lake lower down. Quite a time finding 367. It was correctly placed on the map, but the map in that section is not accurate. (Yes I was the one who drew that part in the map). Then getting 368 - it had been under water. The mud was incredible, sucking my shoes off. Always an adventure at Deam Lake. Did I mention I hate metal stands in the woods.

Updated Brown Park Map and worked on the control locations for the first sprint of the summer season. Mowing patterns have changed. Some thick areas now exist.
