Orienteering 1:53:35 [3] 4.33 mi (26:14 / mi) +860ft 22:05 / mi

Great Falls, MD
Advanced Short [14 controls, 5.9 km]

Actual Distance Traveled: 6.9 km
Actual Climb: 262 m

It was very windy, as it frequently seems to be at Great Falls when we are there orienteering. The parking lot definitely reflected the cool temps.

I was originally going to do the Intermediate course but I was mistakenly handed an advanced map. So I did the advanced (short) course, which meant that I only found the first 14 controls on the course instead of all 20. It was long enough and not too difficult, navigationally speaking. I didn't have any great troubles like I have on occasion in the past at this Great Falls.

THe arch of my left foot bothered me throughout the course. I'm not sure what caused that but I think I probably need to do more stretching than I have been lately.

Aside from the wind the weather was very nice. The woods were fairly open. I took the safe routes some times instead of the direct one, like from 11 to 12.
