Prince William Forest - Turkey Run

Course Distance: 6.5 km
Actual Distance: 8.5 km

The only major mistake I made was when I got close to the 3rd control I started circling looking for it a little too soon. I had not traveled far enough west and was looking in the wrong area. It probably cost me 5-10 minutes. Aside from that it wasn't a terribly difficult course but it was challenging enough to satisfy me.

I was slowed to a stop by very strong wind gusts while biking up one of the hillier sections of 14th St NW, and then knocked down. I lost some skin on my left elbow and knee. I was very lucky that there were no cars immediately next to me. I got up, walked the bike for 20-30 feet before getting back on it and riding the rest of the way.

I stopped a few minutes later, for about half a minute, when another very strong wind gust felt like it was going to knock me down.

My upper left arm is still a little sore, mostly around the elbow, but I don't think anything is broken.
