flexibility 45:00 [1]

The stress in the connective tissue behind my right knee came back after bein in compression for 5 hours yesterday. I probably should have taken it off the right leg when I finished the ride. And maybe done air compression after the moderate length ride.

With my big rides over for the year, I thought I would get back to trying some different riding.

Today I went to Uxbridge to give their very long trail a try. It turns out, access is via a bit of single track. Not tragic. I put a bit of video of it of Facebook/Instagram.

3km riding behind some of the homes on the edge of town, then 12km through wetlands. It is a very quiet trail, with few road crossings. Far less traffic interaction than Caledon or Oro trails. At that point there was a branch - I took the right arm, continuing mostly east.

After 24km I got to km 0 of the next jurisdiction. The map showed 53km and then indicated it extended further to Peterborough. This section was even less used. Big concrete blocks were placed to discourage dirt bikes, but a couple were to tight to get the recumbent through. I turned around at about half my age. No sign of any services, so carry everything you need. I should have packed my spare bladder, but didn’t think it was warm enough to require it.

I took a fair bit of video on the return. That and a growing headwind made it slow getting back. I overshot my entry point to map the extreme west end. I headed into the single track early and ended up riding a bit of residential to get back to the truck. The trip, and more requires no road riding, so definitely ‘Bent friendly.

Between getting there, and the drone stops, the 3 hour bike ride took 5 hours.

I highly recommend this trail.

Oh...I should note the elevated heart rate in intervals 9-11 is false. Time for a new heart monitor.
