Another 4C ride. Perfect opportunity to test the Assos base layer that Mrs decided not to save for Christmas when I got in yesterday. I traded a t shirt and the giant pink scarf for the base layer. I gave up a bit of initial warmth but gained comfort once my torso started throwing off heat. Exactly as it is supposed to. I'm becoming a big fan of Assos clothing, though it is a bit pricey.

The ride was straight out into the setting moon. It was quite cool to watch the silhouettes of the trees on the old stone barns as the sun rise. I looped back when the sun cleared the trees and came back into the sun rise.

The only thing that upset the perfect picture was a surprising amount of gun fire. Not what you expect on a peaceful Sunday morning.

Chilly road ride on smokie at 4C. Not the best weekend to have left all of the warm gear in Canada. I saw two women out running, everybody else stayed inside.

I did find that my giant pink scarf tucked into my spring jacket kept my neck and chest nice and warm. A spare pair of ski gloves made it very hard to establish most snacks. I actually trolled yellowing lights so I could stop, pull off and glove and sneak a bite. Toes had now chance of staying warm in mesh shoes.

Smokie PA country loop.
Very strong winds bringing in a cold front made it feel much cooler than the thermometer said. Cross winds for most of the ride made it a good workout. I think a short sleeved base layer is in order.
