I don't usually ride the morning of my long commute, but I felt compelled to explore the Aurora branch of the trail a bit more. I missed the end of it by making a gentle left rather than a hair pin right so the full out and back would be about 20 km from my yard. This makes the current trail very close to 20km north to south.

The Aurora branch has a very different character than the rest. It is mostly wet lands. It also has quite a few more loopy branches, where the rest of the trail follows the river with little optional detours into the bush.

Fairly easy ride on the mountain trail. With the northern part closed for 6 months I branched down to check the state of the Aurora branch. It is much hillier than Newmarket or Holland Landing. I'll do the full length of it the next time I'm out.

I've noticed recently that using right turn stairs puts quite a bit of stress on my right knee - the one that got smashed by a Dodge.
