Day 3 soloflex
Both dips and pull ups pretty strong today in spite of the slightly wonky right elbow.

I did notice how bad my counting is while exercising: was that 5 or 8? was that the third set? It mostly doesn't matter, but it is odd how much harder it is to count exercise than grapes.

Mountain bike warm up/down (Big Unit) 1:08:00 [2] 16.6 km (4:06 / km) +80m 4:00 / km
ahr:119 max:147 shoes: Diadora Polarex Plus

The Crank Brothers cleats didn't arrive so I brought the big single speed with shimano pedals home and put the spare cleats I have on a pair of running shoes on the new boots. There wasn't any fresh snow hiding the ice so it went out for a little test.

-3C, damp and breezy, so my booties would have worked. The boots are much easier to get out in and the first thing I noticed was how nice it is to be able to adjust how tight the shoe is after the first few steps - very challenging through a bootie. The boots also have a nice solid stance stopping to adjust the seat height. They will nicely accommodate a thermal sock on colder days - I just wore a thin summer sock today.

There was lots of ice. Bridges, underpasses and painted concrete were all icy. Quite a few healthy sheets of glare ice where there had been some melting yesterday.

Day 2 soloflex
1 PM

Other (Trail work) 50:00 [3]

The path out back was a bit icy to cycle on after much of yesterday's snow melted then froze so I went to do a bit of work on the trail to the trail. I cleared the stuff less than 15 cm that was clearly dead. There are a couple of bits on trunks that are near horizontal, but might be live, so I left them for a second opinion, or spring. One trunk I had considered axe worthy turned out to be old enough that I had enough leverage to snap it and pull the two pieces out of the way. Three axe attacks left.
