Sufferfest: the way out

First try at another strength video. This one is 9 climbs with Mike Cotty on the alps. It does a good job of make you want to take your bike and ride some of them in real life. Compared to yesterday's Power Station, the climbs are about twice as long and the recover about half as long but power level is a bit lower.

My right calf started to cramp a bit on the last climb. Not the first time that has happened this winter.

Power: avg-175, max-257

Sufferfest: power station

First time with this video. It is 11 low cadence climbs. It's a pretty good strength training session. The low cadence works well for me in terms of heart rate management, but it was still a good workout.

Power: avg-173, max-310

Mountain bike (FatBoy) 1:43:00 [2] 20.6 km (5:00 / km) +179m 4:48 / km
ahr:127

Tried the south trails of the fattie today. As expected, the Aurora sections were much icier, but it was fairly lumpy so the grip was good. And the fat tires are quite happy to go through the snow drifted to the side of the trail. I took some branches that had very little travel and that would have been questionable on the mountain bike. The fattie really is a lot of fun.

It was slightly warmer today at -5C vs. -8C yesterday, but the wind was quite brisk. I stuck with the 80s ski jacket up top, but switched to the dry suit style knickers on the bottom. The torso got a bit warm on the downhill return, but not enough to bother trying to unzip with the lobster gloves.
