Tricksy weather today.
I had planned a road ride on a morning when roads should be quiet, but there was a heavy fog so I paused a bit and got ready to take the mountain bike on the trails. All set to go and the sun was out, so I put the mountain bike away and got out something for the road. Shortly after getting out, the sun turned to cloud and as I made the turn back west, 18.2km from home it started to rain.
I took that as incentive to try to climb the steepest northbound hill on Kennedy on the big ring. Cresting at 18km/hr instead of my usual 10-12 made for a very speedy descent down the wall of doom. The rain seemed to clear so I turned back south to try for a 40km ride. I got red at all the uphill lights heading back home. Traffic was pretty civilized even on Mulock.
I did get cussed out for riding in the middle of the road - while I was making a left turn. Apparently 70m is too long to be positioned for a left on residential streets. He came up after I was already in the lane to turn, and had lots of room on the right. Maybe he was venting early so he could be nice to his mom today.
