Today’s plan was to check the north end of the river after the frost melted and before the cold front came in.

The new stretch of path on the east side of the river that was just being started when I went out with ‘Bent is open. It is nicely groomed where the bootleg single track used to be. The bridge that was out on the west side has also been replaced with new wood about 50cm wide and away from the trees so access is handy in both directions making for a nice 3km loop on the north end.

Coming back I ran into some active construction on the east edge of Rogers Reservoir so I doubled back and headed home. I was dressed just right for the ride, but noticed the wind picking up as I was finishing up.

I’ll load the GPS after lunch.

I waited as long as I could before the day’s appointments for it to warm up a bit and melt off the heavy frost. The bouncey feet club filled the trail at about 15km and then classes of school kids doing a cool walk for gym class.

The legs were a bit sluggish.

Cool and windy 6C required light full finger gloves. The no rain forecast turned out to mean a light drizzle for a good part of the ride. The rest was a spray of standing water and worm guts - one of the hazards of riding with two tires out front.

I was nice to get a bit of out doors exercise again though.
