Flight needed a 90 minute recovery so with a winter weather warning we ventured out on fat bikes. My lack of hills for 6 months showed and I opted to loop back about half an hour short. We got some ice pellets on the return, so I didn’t feel too bad about turning around. But it stopped before we finished up. She is finishing on the tandem, testing the new Di2 battery - had to complete in World Cup on a single speed.

A quick try of the rowing machine while Flight finished lifting.

It doesn’t seem right that I can row a kilometer much faster than I can run it. I finished at a sub 5 minute pace and didn’t really feel stressed.

Had to get up even earlier than for Habitat to get a bit of a stretch in before flying west.

Walk about Bridgeland to stretch the legs out while Flight worked. Cut short because the old fly/drive right leg compression came unglued.

There is a clear pattern showing in my joints the day after Habitat. I’m probably 3-4cm shorter and it’s taking about a day to get sorted out. I’ll have to keep an eye on how activity dependent it is. I’ve been leaning over much of this year, often working at floor level half the time. Otherwise I am mostly working overhead.

Sad to hear of another cyclist killed on hwy 9 overnight - hit and run.

Quite a work out at Habitat today. Hauled a bunch of 2x8 and a few 2x10, moved a bunch of cement, hauled windows for the old guys installing them, then installed staircase landings in 8 houses (finishing all the second floor landings), removed temporary stairs in 2 houses and installed proper stairs in two houses. Finished up putting in guard rails around stair openings awaiting permanent stairs.
