25th Anniversary of not dying river ride with Mrs. it was pretty quiet northbound. At the Turn around in Holland Landing, Mrs indicated that she would prefer not to take the single track on the other side of the river back, so we retraced our steps. This did let her get a photo of her first trillium of the year.

Very busy on the Newmarket portion of the trail coming back.

Got up to catch Flights race only to find the feed off air. Now trolling it to see if they pick up coverage again since they do list the event as being active.

I took a bit of time while Mrs and J were out to log some intensity 5 time. There were a lot of cars on the street, but most of them weren’t moving so I was able to maintain a decent pace. My heart reached its steady state mid way through the second interval. In the third interval the little neighbourhood kids decided to join me on their bikes so I eased off when they got in range.

Mrs’ Camry came home near the 20km make so I finished that interval and took a couple of cool down laps to see how well my heart would recover. I might not be as far out of shape as I suspected.

Cool, damp, windy outing before going to collect J for the long weekend. Parking suggested many people took the day off - most of them seemed to be driving around town so I avoided all roads.

The trike is running well, but must have known I visited ‘Bent yesterday because it threw my emergency Cliff Bloks on the trail twice in the first 5 km. I also had a pause to adjust the mirror - the driveway setting wasn’t quite the rear visibility I really want. And I need to remember to mount the big taillight.

I was surprised to see these shoes have almost 11 thousand kilometres on them. It suggests that the shoes I had before recording this stuff might have had more use than I estimated. It might be time to start looking for new road shoes since these are the last I have in service.

Right side joints all a bit wonky today - I’ve had this periodically for a couple of months.

Note

Strange corporate group at Habitat today. A few no shows so I expected to be working alone and set up my space for that. Then at the last minute I got 3 helpers.

One said he couldn’t do anything with his arms. I wondered what he expected to contribute at a build site. He disappeared in the first half hour. A woman from another group left after an hour.

Another of my helpers said he couldn’t reach above his head or use his left arm. I got him to measure and score drywall. He also hammered a few nails and disappeared when lunch arrived.

My third helper was filling her summer after a university term and was good, until she hammered her hand. I didn’t learn this until she had been missing for 45 minutes. After getting some ice, she came back to provide moral support while I worked alone, then put away a few tools and left early.
