Flat trainer ride trying to get a sense of what power my natural cadence pushes in the gears I’m most likely to use.

Sort of random sprints at commercial breaks in whatever was on TV. I used bigger gears each sprint so power got higher each time maxing out at 865 on the last sprint in my biggest gear (126 I think). I could only get the cadence up to 135 today.

Sufferfest: the wretched

35 minute compressed Tour de France stage. Pretty happy to maintain an average power over 200 watts while keeping my heart rate average around 150. I spiked sprinting up the last climb and then at the finish line.

Power: avg-199, max-472

Note

Unexpected 5 hour visit to emergency. Mrs tripped and planted her face on the sidewalk. Fat lip and 3 stitches on her eyebrow. The extra time was running tests to see if something internal caused the fall - all clear.

Sufferfest: there is no try

9 progressive intervals from 1-8 minutes each. Even intervals are the upward ramping power. Sprints at the end of the shorter ones. All power ramp via cadence - 139 rpm to hit 511 watts on the last sprint. I was geared about the middle of the cassette and on the middle chain ring.

Power: avg-190, max-511

I waited until the melting made the snow nice and heavy to clear it. Noteworthy only because I forgot to put compression on before going out (been hibernating a fair bit with a fluish Mrs). I felt fine but have a fairly large bruise above my ankle. I noticed the siding stocking as I put my boots on, but felt it wouldn’t be enough effort to matter.
