I took advantage of the warm Sunday morning to check out the state of my favourite route. At least it was until heavier traffic and construction made it a death trap.
Straight east at a nice pace. There was a bit of minor construction, but the road was all good. I went south to St John’s for the return and the construction that had made a mess of it for about 5 years is pretty much cleared out. It should be a good alternative to Mullock for the return until they finish building all the new houses they are set up for - maybe 5 years.

Went out to look for a 11.5-12.5 km flat circuit to use for the Cruz TT challenge. I realized just before the section I would look for a start that being US based, I probably actually needed 11.5-12.5 miles.
I started interval 5 at what I guessed would be the right spot, then did a right turn circuit to minimize the variable of left turns in traffic. Starting at Bathurst makes me almost 2 km too long. Starting at Pumphouse is probably 1 kmtoo short, so I’ll pick a house somewhere in the middle.
Coming home, I notice the trails were open and busier than I’ve ever seen them. Then a huge line up outside the bike shop.
Stay at home had me clean thoroughly enough to find some smaller resistance bands for the soloflex. Adding ‘5 lbs’ per side rather than 10 made my elbow happy.
