A bit of a late start getting some laundry going while electricity is half price.

Day 1

Cardio (Squash ) 28:00 [3]

My landscaper invited me to give squash another try before I left the gym.

It took a few shots to remember how hard you have to hit a squash ball, especially these new two yellow dot balls.

I’ve avoided racquet sports for over 30 years so as not to stress my legs, knees in particular. They held up nicely. We stopped when I got a big pull in my right elbow - which is now being iced.

Zwift tour stage 2 group B

This group was a good distance for today. I stuck with a group of about 50 for the first 2 intervals. It then splintered on the climbs and I caught a group of 4 to start the second lap. We picked up 2s and 3s around the sprints and ended up with a nice dozen to pace to the climbs on the second lap. We became mostly single on the last 5km of climbs.

Good heart recovery and pretty happy with holding that effort for an hour.

Note

Just over an hour to clear the snow, which I did instead of going to Body Works. Oura says 300 calories. Snow was pretty light, but on top of about 5mm of ice...and my cleanup shovel is worn out, so I can’t get the driveway down to asphalt until I get a replacement.
11 AM

Golf 1:00:00 [2]

I probably should have re stretched my back after shoveling. It took about 20 shots to get everything going right. Just over or under rotating.

No sign of a slice today though. 52 minutes to play 18 holes, and the ragged start meant it took 100 shots to finish - though satisfying that the last was 6”. Back nine 8 shots better than the front.

Note

It was much harder than I expected to seal the last page of my last family photo album.

Good use of a rainy, foggy afternoon though.

Yoga warm up/down 1:00:00 [2]

Monica was big on twists today.

Zwift tour stage 1 group C

I went with the shorter route for the rerun so I could be sure I could push more watts. I was targeting 160-170 for the route and managed to hold the high end of that range without over running my heart.

I saw a longish sprint as I was finishing g the cool down so thought I might was well go for a PB and did it by a decent margin.

Again, happy with my heart recovery time.

Tour de Zwift stage 1 A group

I had no expectations of sticking with the A group. I just went for the extra distance.

Steady effort throughout. Happy to see a relatively low peak heart rate.

Solid workout.

13 minute easy spin to make sure everything was working off the clock.
