Zwift tour stage 4 group B

I didn’t get to the bike until after the A group started. Good thing because they were climbing over 1000m.

Nice big group until the big climb which splintered things. Surprisingly, I passed a bunch of people in the last 2km of it. I used an aero boost and another used a draft boost to help a pack of 5 gain enough momentum on the descent to pick off a bunch of people.

Then just settled in with my little gang to steady state the last 10km.

Body Works + abs

I used half weight on the right side much of the time and no weight on the right occasionally. It worked out pretty well. Range of motion is about 90% without resistance.

Not excited to wake up to another round of freezing rain. I was promised fresh snow.

Doctor appointment mid afternoon meant a schedule shift. I did a video that came with my new mat. It had a lot in common with Monica’s class, but not as much balance or twisting.

It did make it clear that I have to use some compression on my legs for more than a couple of minutes off the floor - very bulgy right leg and retry blue feet.

Elbow still tender, but I can convince myself it is slightly better.

First time out on my university days skates in years. It took a bit to get used to the feel on my feet, and how much I use the tiny muscles in my shins.

The ice was not good but I had the rink mostly to myself. I budgeted myself one fall - a bit too bold on an outside edge. No harm done. It was nice to hear the slice of a sharp edge on the ice.

Day 2
Gym. Stuck to the machines where angle and range of motion was well controlled. Generally one plate lighter than usual for all arm work. I skipped one exercise that I can only do with free weights.

Biggest elbow risk turned out to be the prospect of falling on the sheet of ice the temperature made of this morning’s drizzle.

The A group was climbing mount vanteux, which I wasn’t willing to force my slightly foggy brain up.

I stayed with a decent sized group the whole way today, luckily they eased off a bit for the last third of the route.

Good workout for a light day.

Right elbow range of motion is quite restricted this morning. I will probably skip yoga this morning to avoid the weight baring on the arm bits.
