Cycling race (TdB Crit) 38:56 [4] 24.5 km (1:35 / km) +80m 1:34 / km
ahr:170 max:185

Perfectly executed team crit race.
Well almost perfectly.
The goal was to get Meghan first across the line with Kailee on her wheel for second.

Started out slowish with Bici sitting near the back wait to see if anyone would go early, who was going to be working and generally feel out how the other girls were riding.

A few laps in we start to move up.
9 or 10 laps in I attack off the front.
I thought I heard a prime but turns out is was just some jerk with a cowbell at the line (don't ring your fucking cow bell at the line, this is one of the only ways racers know what the hell is going on in a race).
So I stay off the front, prime lap at 12 to go (13 in), I take it and then start mathing to decide how GC will be affected if I can stay off the front and come first across the line.
No Erin, this could fuck up everything. Sit up and wait for the group to catch me. Take a few laps in the back before moving up and swapping out for pulls. I yell at Kailee to get off the front. She sprints for a prime with 6 laps to go (and takes it) I yell at her again.
3 laps left I drive the pace up and signal to Janelle to take a pull.
Melissa (not on our team comes around).
Last lap we are up near the front, back half Meghan yells at Janelle to get off Annas wheel (this is the woman Kailee needs to beat to take 1 in GC).
She moves, Meghan gets on Anna's wheel into the last corner and then sprints hard, Kailee tries to stay on her wheel but can't. Anna gets her wheel, then Kailee then Janelle coming wide. I intentionally go wide so I can see finish line and who is hitting the line.
I'm closing on Janelle who is dangerously close to passing kailee.
I pull the brakes.
Kailee hits the line just before Janelle I come in about an inch later.

Meghan wins taking second in GC.
Kailee came third bumping her to 3rd in GC.

We spilt all the prize money 4 ways taking a cool $375 each.
Boom.
Mathed

We also made the paper.
and got all the highfives for a perfectly executed team race.

Well.
This sucked.
I was feeling super nauseous from the time I woke up. Couldn't really eat in the morning. That feeling didn't go away.
The first climb after the feed zone on lap one I threw up and got popped. I chased back on only to throw up again and get dropped on the big climb after the turn around. Janelle was also off so I caught her and told her we were chasing until the end of the lap. Somewhere in there I threw up again, this time I managed not to swallow all of it.
Went around for lap two about a minut behind the group. The gap kept growing. After lap two I was still feeling super rough and told Janelle I was Saturday ride pacing it back in. It's a points race so it didn't matter if we finished 30 seconds or like 30mon behind 5th place the points would be the same.
So we rolled it on in and cross the line hand in hand, which no one seems to have gotten a photo of because everyone was already gone.

I placed 6th

Well I only wanted to do 2 ride up but Meghan flatted so i let her take my ride home with Veinbuster.
Which meant back up the hill for me so I could get to my apartment.
Good thing it started pouring rain....wait no.

Who breaks a bottle on the COP hill anyways ?
