Lappee Jukola Viesti, 2nd leg, ShUOC.

Rough start in the green, hard to know exactly where you were but hit the track/ride junction spot on, but then cut in too early and went to the wrong gaffle on 1. Didn't see the path/ride on 4 and couldn't work out exactly where I was so wrong gaffle again. After this got orienteering well and picked up the pace where possible. Continued to be solid through to the run through. Lot of people messing up 17 but ignored them and nailed it find with a little train behind me. Pushed on on the long leg then cut through the terrain earlier to get on the path and beat everyone on to the track, nailed it and caught the next group up on the track and got ahead then my head torch died. Steadier from now on with a small torch barely bright enough to read my map, got through the control pick fairly well, just reading my map constantly and using the others as a guide. Missed the last control in the control pick by about 2 minutes though. Pushed on now but only half heartedly with not being able to see and just using the lights of those ahead. Long leg back to the arena so pushed on the track and small ride then got into the field and let loose for the last 1km

Arrived at Jukola, chucking it down so must clothes wet already, so sacked off the model event and got wet walking around instead.

Easy in the rain at the 1km away area, cold pretty bad, few mistakes as with Nathan's spare compass as mine was still broke.

Easy little training at 1k away area, control pick style. Good to begin with, few mistakes in the middle and just before the end.

After the water park all day and watching the England game, it is chucking it down so we sacked off the evening event.

Gaffeled starts at Sudenrotko with the boys which soon whittled down to myself and Matt. Good head to head running at the end at a good speed and was beginning to interact with the map well.

SDC gym session at Ruuhijärvi with Matt and Nathan, putting the work in for Si Vardy as always.

Head to head training with OK77 at Oittaa Lake. Originally on the B exercise but felt weak and a embarrassment towards the Finns so manned up to the A with Matt and Nathan. Running well after a fast start and realeled the leaders in at 3. Stuck in with a Fin on the long leg to 5. Went straight on 6 which was in the thick green, group of 7 reformed smashing through the grot. Good head to head to the end with some good gaffeling. Mistake on 10 and RC error on 14, but good.

Evening event at Sunnistusksrtta Korpilampi, very rough area, hard going, often in the control circle but missing, walked second half as I was pissed off.
