Swimming race (Lake) 16:24 [2] 0.75 km (21:52 / km)

I panicked 150/200m in... had to call lifeguard on board and have him swim over and hold onto the yellow float for a couple of minutes... couldn't breath and felt real fear... wanted to give up but collected myself and slowly and carefully finished the swim.
61/79 AC and 478th Overall

Cycling race (Road) 49:00 [4] 30.0 km (1:38 / km)

Felt pretty good on the bike but didn't eat my blocks as planned... 80+ clicks down the big hill that we climbed. Had a few times I didn't feel into it b/c of the swim but stuck it out in crazy traffic weaving in and out of others...
7th in AC and 55th Overall

Running race (Road/Trails) 33:46 [4] 7.5 km (4:30 / km)

Not easy going on but felt better on the way back. Need more brick work...
13th AC and 101st Overall

Time with transitions was 1:42:05 19th in AC and 122nd Overall. Not a great race but learned a valuable lesson. Get a open water swim with wetsuit on before a race! Maverick and Irongonnabe learned the same lesson unfortunately. Won't wear my heart monitor or watch in a short race again!!!

Up @ 5:35am watching The Hour and Sportscentre... Nice quick tempo at 90rpms. I've been reading that it is best to taper with duration than usual training but maintain a good tempo before a race. 5A!

Cranked it up for the first 5 minutes then had to lower it back as I was going way too fast and was tiring out... :|

Went well. First 10 minutes tough as usual then loosened up and felt farily strong. Just a bit of discomfort...

Ran (can't run tomorrow night) from my house to Headwater Trail and did a bit of Main Loop and back. Cut out the big hills b/c I'm racing Sunday but, kept a pretty good tempo especially on the return.
