Once again forgot to start Garmin but didn't lose as much distance this time. Hike back to car. Jacob voted against any extra hiking, and we went along with it in the interests of keeping this first backpacking trip a positive experience.

As nice as it is to have everything we need in our camper, I really enjoyed the simplicity of having everything we needed on our backs. Jacob had a good time "except for the hiking" and the rest of us had a good time including the hiking, so I think our first trip was a success. No outside medical intervention or tears. ;-)

Distance was more like 2.75 mi, but I forgot to start my Garmin and don't really know the time for the whole hike. First backpacking trip with Jeff, Jacob, Chuck, Lori, and two very happy dogs. 30 lb pack wasn't too bad for the short distance.

Thurs night group ride: chuck, Eric, Dave, amanda, Alice, alane, Steve. Mound to Callaway Fork and back. Quads got super crampy, I think I did ok on water intake, so not sure what the issue was. Maybe pushing a bigger gear than normal? Great ride, though.

Chuck and I cleared the majority of the Palisades trekking points. He mostly navved, though we split up for 4 points and I did nav to at least one other point besides my two. One big whiff when I was solo and way overshot the pit I was going to. Ran very little on this one.
