Running race (Frozen Feet half) 2:53:09 [3] 13.0 mi (13:19 / mi) +460ft 12:53 / mi
ahr:128 max:175 rhr:46 slept:5.5 shoes: Salomon Sense Pro

FF half with Katie. My PW time by far, but I knew going in that it would be even if I'd run it alone, and this way I had company and the excuse that she needed to walk more than I would have. That said, I was never sad to walk and given my low running mileage walking more would have probably been a good strategy.

6 hours post race hips, knees, and feet are a little sore. Given how clear but frozen the ground was and the large amount of pavement, my cushier road shoes would have been a better move. Otherwise clothing choices were right on. About 35 at start, capris, l/s shirt, fleece hat, knit gloves, regular socks.

Was planning to run but the dog talked me out of it. Just as well. It was getting dark and there were still lots of icy spots on the sidewalk.

Walking hills 21:20 [2]

Unexpectedly ended up supervising sledding, and wasn’t dressed to stand out in the cold, so I did some hiking up the sledding hill to warm up.

Mountain biking (ICCP) 2:24:43 [2] 19.1 mi (7.9 mph) +1138ft
ahr:131 max:162 rhr:45 slept:7.5 shoes: Superfly SS

Rode with Chuck, Dave, and Mickey.

This is the second time in a row I've found the Garmin HR data questionable. Fitbit recorded avg HR as 89 and max as 135, which seems much more in line with my perceived effort today. I love that trail, but it felt like a million years since I've mountain biked. Body felt fine, but my mental game never showed up. I settled for meander pace and the knowledge that probably my next ride will be much better.

26* and steady snow for the first half or so. Wore base layer, l/s shirt, light windbreaker, buff, fleece hat, lobster gloves, UA tights over bike shorts, two pr thin merino socks under Fasterkatts. Hands got a little sweaty, toes got a little cold, perfect otherwise.
