Trail of tears State Forest to Cedar Lake via the Dirty South route to Alto Pass and then the River to River trail to the lake. Camped just past the spillway. Had to carry our bikes through a thigh-deep section of flooded road and bitten by a dog about halfway through. Great day otherwise. Felt amazing to be in shorts and short sleeves and comfortable.

This was my longest bikepacking ride to date. Considering I’m hoping to double the distance on much hillier terrain for nearly two straight weeks in June...we’ll see how that turns out. We got a late start and stopped when we got to our planned campsite, so there was definitely room in the day to ride much further if we’d been at TOTSF earlier, and while I was glad to reach the campsite I didn’t feel like I couldn’t ride further.
